Back at the malls by popular demand!

October 17-20, 2012

Halifax Shopping Centre & Mic Mac Mall

The event

Canstruction® Nova Scotia is a dynamic food and fundraising event in support of FEED NOVA SCOTIA, where teams come together to build incredible structures entirely out of canned food. This unique event has become an annual tradition, showcasing abundant talent and creative power, with an added benefit of helping to feed hungry families.

The sculptures are judged by a team of community leaders and industry professionals in the following categories:

• Structural Ingenuity
• Best Meal
• Best Use of Labels
• Juror’s Favourite
• Honourable Mention

They are also displayed at a public exhibition, where the public is invited to vote on the People's Choice Award.

When the event is over, the food is donated to FEED NOVA SCOTIA to help stock the shelves of food banks and meal programs across the province.

Competitive fun

Supporting a worthy cause feels great, but there’s an added bonus too—bragging rights are clearly at stake. Canstruction® Nova Scotia is organized as part of an international design/build competition held throughout the world. Nova Scotia’s winners go on to an international competition, competing with the best cansculptures from across North America.

Canstruction® Nova Scotia was an outstanding success in 2011. In addition to an extraordinary public display of talent and a lot of fun, the event raised 27,878 cans of food for FEED NOVA SCOTIA to distribute to its member food banks and meal programs!
