We're all smiles

Every year, thanks to Tim Hortons, a sweet little cookie makes a very big impact. 

And 2018 was no exception. In HRM, proceeds from the Smile Cookie campaign supported Feed Nova Scotia and the IWK Foundation, and today, the incredible folks from Tim Hortons presented our team with a cheque for $97,936!!

A gift of this magnitude means a lot of things.

It means people love cookies and they love helping a good cause!
We heard stories and saw lots of posts of people sharing Smile Cookies with family, friends, and coworkers. We got in on the action too and did a few pop ins to some of our awesome supporters in the community. We had a blast! Smiles are contagious.

It means there's a huge hustle happening behind the counter.
A donation of over $97,000 to us and to the IWK Foundation means Tim Hortons sold over 200,000 cookies--which means Tim Hortons staff had a REALLY BUSY WEEK. There is no Smile Cookie success without your dedication and hard work. We made it out to as many stores as we could to say hello and tell you just how much your support means, but do we ever wish we had the chance to meet every single one of you!  P.S. Thank you for patiently teaching us how to ice those delicious cookies!

And it means many Nova Scotians will have food in their time of need.
During the visit today, Jennifer Haley from Tim Hortons shared a heartfelt message with our Feed Nova Scotia team. She said, "Our communities wouldn't be as strong without you." We'd like to pass that compliment right back to you, Tim Hortons. Our work is only possible because of support like yours. Each year we distribute almost 2 million kilograms of food to 145 food banks, meal programs, and shelters across the province because generous individuals and steadfast supporters like Tim Hortons step up to the plate. That amazing $97,936 cheque will mean we can distribute 147,000 meals' worth of of donated food! 

And that is a really big reason to smile.
