Our Warehouse
Sorting the food that comes in to our warehouse, and preparing food orders for delivery to our member agencies is a huge part of our operation. Working in our warehouse is a great opportunity to directly impact our mission, while bonding with old friends and making new ones.
Warehouse Assistant
As a warehouse assistant volunteer, you’ll inspect, clean, sort and box up food orders, while helping ensure we distribute safe and high quality food to our member agencies every day.
Shifts:
Monday - Friday
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Sort food donations into categories
- Respect food safety standards
- Weigh and palletize food
- Build food bank orders
Requirements:
- Able to lift 25kg repeatedly
- Comfortable on feet for 3 hours
- Read and understand food labels
- Attention to detail
- Comfortable with warehouse temperatures
