Kay

Kay Sperdakes began volunteering with Feed Nova Scotia in December 2003 – over 14 years ago! We feel very lucky to have such an organized and kind hearted human being working with us. She has volunteered with countless special events as well as with Feed Nova Scotia’s gift wrapping booth. Pictured here, Kay and her best friend Diana (in red) are regular volunteers at our coat check events every year. They are both natural born leaders and a hoot to volunteer with! Like her late husband, John Sperdakes, Kay has touched many people’s lives. To honour his memory, the John Sperdakes Memorial Tournament, created in 2001, helped establish the JSMT Fundraising Society. Each year, this group raises funds in support of a chosen charity through different events, including an annual golf tournament and “Friends and Family” nights at Finbar’s Irish Pub. Feed Nova Scotia is proud to have been chosen as the beneficiary of the JSMT Fundraising Society this year.
