Connecting with community
August 9, 2017
For Ashley, the Salvation Army Dartmouth is much more than a food bank—it’s a community hub.
Knowing she can access food in times of need makes a big difference, but she’s also grateful for the opportunity to learn budgeting skills, attend cooking classes, and drop in for Precious Moments, a mom and tots program that runs every Tuesday. It’s an opportunity to get out of the house and connect with other moms, and a great place for her son to make new friends.
“The kids have a lot of fun, and they’re nice and tired when we leave,” she says with a laugh.
