We distribute approximately 2 million kilograms of donated food each year to our member food banks and meal programs. This simply wouldn't be possible without the support of the community. There are many ways to help provide food for the thousands of Nova Scotians that rely on us each month.
Individual food donations
We always welcome perishable and non-perishable food donations at our facility located at 213 Bedford Highway during the following hours:
Monday through Friday: At our office from 8:00am - 4:30pm
We also have drop-off bins for non-perishable items in Sobeys and Atlantic Superstores in HRM and Wal-Mart stores across the province.
We always appreciate donations of pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, cereals, canned soups and stews, canned meat and fish, and peanut butter.
Whether it’s casual day at your office, a fundraiser in your neighbourhood or on campus, a 50/50 draw or a raffle, food and fund drives are a great way to get your community together to fight hunger.
We are well equipped to receive, safely store, and distribute large food donations. Our warehouse space includes industrial refrigeration that allows us to accept perishable, non-perishable, frozen and prepared foods.
Thanks to this great initiative, hunters can donate deer and moose meat to food banks and meal programs throughout the province.
